The Smart Choice

CitraNatal vitamins are specially formulated for the many women who require nutritional support prior to conception, throughout pregnancy, and during the postnatal period.

CitraNatal vitamins are the trusted brand of prescription prenatal multivitamin/multimineral supplements that incorporate the unique attributes of calcium citrate with vital nutrients you and your baby need.

To enhance absorption of iron and other important vitamins and minerals, we've included ascorbic acid (Vitamin C) in CitraNatal prescription prenatal vitamins. To guard against constipation—a problem for many pregnant women—our vitamins also contain a gentle stool softener, docusate sodium. Each CitraNatal tablet is scored for ease of breakage.

CitraNatal vitamins contain carbonyl iron. Studies show that carbonyl iron is safer than the traditional ferrous sulfate and it is generally well-tolerated.

Additional nutritional support is provided by: Vitamins C and E; Vitamins B1, B2, B3, and B6 to help counteract deficiencies common in pregnant women. CitraNatal vitamins also offer the benefits of zinc, copper, and iodine. Finally, CitraNatal vitamins contain an all-natural, vegetable based DHA source that is free of mercury, PCBs and other environmental contaminants sometimes found in fish oil.

CitraNatal vitamins should be used to supplement a healthy diet.

Important Safety Information

WARNING: Accidental overdose of iron-containing products is a leading cause of fatal poisoning in children under 6. KEEP THIS PRODUCT OUT OF THE REACH OF CHILDREN. In case of accidental overdose, call a doctor or poison control center immediately.

Warnings

Ingestion of more than 3 grams of omega-3 fatty acids per day has been shown to have potential antithrombotic effects, including an increased bleeding time and INR. Administration of omega-3 fatty acids should be avoided in patients on anticoagulants and in those known to have an inherited or acquired bleeding diathesis.

Folic acid alone is improper therapy in the treatment of pernicious anemia and other megaloblastic anemias where vitamin B12 is deficient.

Precautions

Folic acid in doses above 0.1 mg daily may obscure pernicious anemia in that hematologic remission can occur while neurological manifestations progress.
